On my quest for the best burger in Tel Aviv, I arrived at Truck De Luxe. A restaurant with a truck / bus in the middle of the restaurant.
Truck De Luxe, which is located near Dizengoff Square, offers a menu inspired by the American street food scene. It features a wide range of hamburgers with side dishes that Americans like to eat.
Let me tell you a little bit about my experience at the restaurant 🙂
Truck De Luxe restaurant is decorated in a classic American diner style. Comfortable wooden tables and a fun atmosphere that just makes you sit and want to devour a hamburger.
So why is the restaurant called Truck De Luxe?
Because of the small old truck that was renovated and functions as a small open kitchen. This is where the dishes are prepared.
The restaurant has a really good vibe to it. The design and the country music in the background give you the feeling that you are actually eating at an American dinner in Nashville.
My score for the place is 8.5/10.
After studying the menu, I decided to order the «Trailer Trash Burger». It’s 2 patties consisting of 180gr beef with a cheddar cheese and bacon strips. It’s made with real carnivores in mind.
I also ordered a small dish of fries with melted cheese and one with minced meat over it.
The hamburger was brilliant. The roll was soft and tasty, the ground meet was cooked perfectly and had almost zero fat in it. Using such lean meat was a wise decision on their part. There was plenty of greasy goodness from the cheese and bacon.
In every bite I felt a perfect combination of a deliciously tasty hamburger, cheddar cheese, and bacon. All without any one taste interfering with the others.
Score for the burger — 9/10!
The fries with the cheese were crispy and melted in my mouth. It was a perfect combination with the juicy burger. I recommend the fries with the melted cheese more than the fries with minced meat.
As per the recommendation of the waitress, I decided to order and taste the Mac and Cheese dish. It was macaroni and cheese topped with onion chips. No doubt a delicious dish that I found a little hard to finish because my stomach was already full.
Score for the side dishes- 8/10.
For dessert I ordered the place’s famous «Crack Pie». It’s a honey cake combined with oatmeal and «Fresh Cream» spread on top of it. The dessert may not look very glamorous, but it certainly had a good taste.
I somehow finished it, even though I was totally stuffed.
Score for dessert — 7.5/10.
What is no less important than the quality of food is the service, which in this case was simply excellent. From the hostess who greeted us with a smiling face and sat us down where we wanted, to the waitress who explained to us about the dishes in a patient and pleasant manner.
The dishes arrived fairly quickly and the waiters were always around us in case we needed anything.
The price was fair, and in my opinion cheap, considering the big tasty meal we ate.
Score for service and price — 9/10.
